Spring, sandals, sleep, sisters

Since last Saturday I have been able to sleep a cumulative 23.5 hours. This averages out to less than 5 hrs/night. Definitely not enough. I arrived home from work today with the intention of taking a 20 minute nap before hitting the gym. Well, 2.5 hours later it was 9PM and I still hadn't eaten dinner or had a workout. I wonder if I was/am tired. That might also explain why I fell asleep during class last night... the class in which I sit in the front row.

Last weekend it was 60F in KC - that is definitely sandals weather. The following are some items, including some sandals, that I want to buy.... but probably will not since I'm trying to buff up the savings some more.

1. Frye, Maya Vintage Stud Sling, Black ($168)

Slings are so cute. Frye shoes have the most supple leather.... I might have a slight obsession with them.

2. Frye, Dara Honeycomb Sling, Green ($198)

Never had the courage/want/need/confidence to wear shoes this tall and ridiculous - but now I want them!! I love studs... though I would most likely break my ankles/legs or end up accidentally stabbing someone with one of the heels. eek.

3. The $600 solid mahogany guitar I saw in Ames, Iowa. I didn't even attempt to remember who made it because I couldn't spend that much money on a first guitar. The sound was the most beautiful of all the guitars I've played so far (50 or so)....deep, rich, but still vibrant. Want want want!

4. Anthropologie, Craft Knife Lace-ups, Pink ($120), fun

5. Free People, Ruffle Bottom Slip, ($68), lovely
Two years ago I owned 5x more pants then dresses. Now, I have about the same number of each. Finally found my feminine side? Yep, plus I can finally afford to start replacing all those high school threads I was wearing throughout college.

 7. Free People, We the Free Cosmic Symphony Top, sunrise/ivory ($88) sunrise
Too expensive - maybe I'll find it at Von Maur on the sale rack. FINGERS CROSSED.

CHICAGO NEXT WEEK!

Irish Day is next Wednesday - have you purchased your Guinness yet? I'm 40+% Irish, but if you try to kiss me I will punch you. Unless you're Johnny Depp.

Happy sister moments:

  1. There is no way you're Irish, Katie! You may recall my neighbor proved this during a well-informed debate after downing several Jack and Cokes.

I, Jill Erin McLain, am clearly not Irish either. However, I will be celebrating Irish heritage day as well. What's the plan?
